Foxman Don Craven of Boroughbridge adzed Yorkshire Oak Hall Table the top of adzed rectangular form and three plank top construction raised on shaped end supports united by a stretcher one foot bears a large well executed seated Fox signature carving

We are not attributing this piece to Malcolm Pipes the Foxman as this signature is not of a Fox’s head which is normally incised.
Given the age of this piece and skillfully carved signature we believe this piece dates from an earlier period (Pipes worked at Thompsons until the 1980’s) this piece was most likely made by the ex Robert Thompson craftsman Don Craven who ceased trading in 1976 he worked with a small group of ex Thompson craftsmen which included Bob Hunter the Wren man at the Alborough Crafts Borough bridge.
